A INFLUÊNCIA DA ADERÊNCIA PNEU-PAVIMENTO NA SEGURANÇA OPERACIONAL AEROPORTUÁRIA¶
Abstract¶
The occurrence of accidents in flight operations is a rare event. Mainly due to the development of air transport, which has become safer over the years. Because of this, it is necessary to ensure operational safety, especially during takeoff and landing phases, by monitoring the adherence conditions of tires on the airport runway surface. Thus, this study evaluates the operational safety through tire-pavement adherence conditions of a Brazilian runway with asphalt coating. For this reason, the values of macrotexture, coefficient of friction, and occurrences of rubber removal in the period from 2015 to 2019 were analyzed. The values of the measurements of these parameters were compared with the ones regulated in Brazil by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). The results indicate values very close to the minimum recommended for the coefficient of friction and the macrotexture, which may affect operational safety. The analysis of a third of the runway provides a better detailing for the study, and the thirds in which the touch zones are found are the ones that present the worst adherence conditions. In addition, it is realized that rubber removal occurred less frequently than recommended in some periods, which may have influenced the adherence behavior. Thus, it is concluded that tire-pavement adherence is an important factor for the safety of landing and takeoff operations. In addition, adequate monitoring of this parameter can allow more appropriate modeling of airport runway performance.
