NETLOGO COMO FERRAMENTA EM SIMULAÇÕES PARA O URBAN AIR MOBILITY (UAM)

Abstract

THE USE OF COMPUTATIONAL TOOLS HELPS THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PROJECTS AND TECHNOLOGIES. A GOOD WAY OF USING TECHNOLOGY APPLIED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW SYSTEMS IS THE USE OF SIMULATIONS, EITHER TO SIMULATE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SYSTEM THAT IS BEING DESIGNED AND ITS COMPONENTS OR TO SIMULATE THE FUNCTIONING OF NEW SYSTEMS AND THE IMPACTS OF CHANGES INSERTED IN THEM. SOME TOOLS USED FOR SYSTEM SIMULATION ARE MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS (MAS), FROM WHICH IT IS POSSIBLE TO SIMULATE THE BEHAVIOR OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENT AND INDEPENDENT AGENTS INTERACTING IN THE SAME ENVIRONMENT. A FREE, EFFECTIVE AND EASY-TO-USE TOOL FOR THIS PURPOSE IS KNOWN AS THE NETLOGO LANGUAGE. THIS ARTICLE PRESENTS THE POSSIBILITIES OF USING SMA AND THE ABILITY OF NETLOGO TO HELP THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW AERONAUTICAL SYSTEMS. WITH THIS TOOL IT IS POSSIBLE TO SIMULATE AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (ATM) AND VALIDATE CHANGES IN TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT, AS WELL AS TEST DIFFERENT TYPES OF AIRCRAFT IN DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS AND CONDITIONS, SUCH AS WEATHER CHANGES AND THE USE OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF AIRCRAFT. AS AN EXAMPLE, THIS WORK EXPLORES THE SIMULATION OF AIRSPACE IN THE CONTEXT OF URBAN AIR MOBILITY (UAM), A NEW MODALITY OF AIR VEHICLE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES (UAVS) FLYING AT LOW ALTITUDE, INTEGRATED WITH THE TRADITIONAL ATM. AMONG THESE VEHICLES ARE THE AUTONOMOUS VTOLS (VERTICAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING). IN THE UAM ENVIRONMENT, NETLOGO WAS USED TO SIMULATE THIS ENVIRONMENT AND, THUS, TO OBTAIN DATA FOR USE IN VALIDATING THE RECOMMENDED HYPOTHESES. WITH THIS WORK, WE INTEND TO SHOW THE CAPABILITIES OF THE NETLOGO TOOL THAT CAN BE USED IN OTHER WORKS THAT AIM TO EXPLORE THE TECHNOLOGIES AND POTENTIALS OF SIMILAR SYSTEMS IN THE UAM, AS WELL AS IN OTHER APPLICATIONS IN THE AERONAUTICAL AREA.
